Sourdough Chocolate Chip Cookies

A crowd favorite! These sourdough chocolate chip cookies don't miss! They are soft and chewy, with a lightly crisp edge... beautifully complimented by a little tang of sourdough starter.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup sourdough discard
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract or as much as your heart desires!

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Using a stand or handheld electric mixer, cream together butter & sugars.
  • Once combined, beat in eggs, discard + vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together your flour, salt, baking soda + baking powder.
  • Slowly incorporate the dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, scraping down edges as needed.
  • Mix in chocolate, do a little taste test, then get ready to scoop!
  • Scoop cookies onto a parchment-lined baking tray.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees until just turning golden around the edges.
  • Allow the cookies to cool for 2 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack.
